Your tenancy agreement explains your rights and responsibilities as a council tenant.
Most new tenants start with a 12-month introductory tenancy. If the tenancy is managed successfully, it will usually become a secure tenancy. In some circumstances, a fixed-term tenancy may be offered instead.
We will tell you what type of tenancy you are being offered and explain the reasons why when you sign your tenancy agreement.
Introductory and fixed-term tenancies are reviewed before they end to ensure the home continues to meet the household’s needs.
Solihull Council and Solihull Community Housing (SCH) are committed to helping residents sustain their tenancy and remain in their home wherever possible. We can provide support and advice if you are experiencing difficulties.
