All introductory and fixed-term tenancies are reviewed.

The purpose of the review is to make sure that:

  • The property continues to meet the household’s needs.
  • The tenancy has been conducted satisfactorily.
  • Council housing is being used effectively.

We will contact you well before your tenancy review takes place and explain what we need from you.

Possible review outcomes

Following a review, we may:

  • Offer a new fixed-term tenancy at the same property.
  • Offer suitable alternative accommodation if your current home is significantly underoccupied.
  • End the tenancy where there has been a serious breach of the tenancy agreement.
  • End the tenancy where accommodation was only intended to be available for a defined period. In these cases, advice and assistance will be provided on finding alternative housing options.
