We carry out regular inspections and fire risk assessments to communal areas to make sure they are kept clear, safe, and tidy.
We have a Clear Spaces Policy in place which means no personal possessions can be left or placed in communal areas. This is to make sure all areas are kept clear and uncluttered if the fire service needs to enter in the building if there’s an emergency.
Some residents have previously kept mobility scooters, plants, small tables and chairs outside their doors. But we are no longer able to allow this and estate assistants have been instructed to remove any personal possessions.
This decision is not one we have made lightly, but it has been taken following talks with Solihull Council and West Midlands Fire Service.
The following items must not be left in communal areas:
- Bikes
- Scooters
- Pushchairs
- Pots and plants
- Tables
- Chairs
- Picture frames
- Any other personal possessions
The policy is in place to keep you safe. If you spot anything left in a communal area, please contact us on 0121 717 1515 to report it.
