I can’t afford to stay in my current home but if I move to a private rented home my rent will be higher. What is the sense in that?

The benefit change is a national policy. We are trying to work with affected tenants to help find a solution.

If you do move to a private rented home, even though your benefit may increase, your current home could be re-let to an overcrowded family or a family that will use all the bedrooms.
