Disability Committed

 

Solihull Community Housing is proud to be committed to the Disability Confident Scheme.

We guarantee to interview disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the job they have applied for and make reasonable adjustments on request. We appoint staff on their abilities.

We know that having a diverse work force helps to drive our business growth and we’re confident in the abilities and potential of our disabled employees who are supported in a variety of ways during their employment. We will:

  • Work with existing staff who might have or acquire disabilities and make reasonable adjustments to enable everyone to fulfil their jobs.
  • Put in place arrangements to discuss with disabled employees, at least once every year, to ensure that changes in reasonable adjustments remain relevant and effective.
  • Ensure that all employees develop the appropriate level of disability awareness needed to make our commitments work.
  • Regularly review our arrangements to meet our commitments under the Disability Confident Scheme and continually improve our offer to disabled employees.
