Right to request a review of the decision made on your housing request

You have the right to request a review of the following decisions made in respect of your request for housing:

  • That you are not eligible because of your immigration status.
  • Your behaviour, or a member of your household’s behaviour is unacceptable and serious enough to make you unsuitable to be a tenant of Solihull Council.
  • That you do not meet the qualifying criteria that Solihull Council has set out in its Allocation Policy.

You or a representative acting on your behalf must request a review in writing within 21 days of receiving your decision letter. A senior officer not involved in the original decision-making process will review the decision and notify you in writing of the review outcome within 56 days.

You should include in your request why you feel this decision is incorrect and you will have the opportunity to provide any further information that was not previously considered by us to support your reasons why the decision is incorrect.

If you remain dissatisfied at the outcome you do have the right to seek a judicial review, but it is suggested that you seek specialist legal assistance.
