Early site clearance and demolition set to get underway
Things are gathering pace in Kingshurst.
We are pleased to announce that Birmingham based contractors, City Demolition have been appointed to carry out the first phase of site clearance and demolition works as part of this ambitious project to redevelop Kingshurst and deliver a high quality, community focussed new village centre for local residents.
Subject to final approvals, the first phase of site clearance and demolition is set to begin imminently.
This early stage work will be limited to the following buildings (also marked in green on the attached plan) and demolition will happen in two phases. This demolition contract does not include any retail units or residential properties.
Phase 1
- The garage blocks on Church Close, School Close and Over Green Drive
- The old clinic building on Colling Walk (demolition will not extend to the neighbouring former Youth and Community Centre building for this phase of work)
Phase 2 (April Onwards)
- The former housing office / Solihull Youth Hub building on Church Close
Residents living in the immediate vicinity of these buildings will receive a letter from City Demolition which will include further details of planned works and contact details for the site foreman should you need to contact them.

We will be working with City Demolition to try and minimise the impact of this work on local residents. Unfortunately, a certain amount of noise and disruption is unavoidable and we would be very grateful if you could bear with us on this.
