During a Home Hazard Assessment, we carried out for a vulnerable client, we noticed many areas we could offer support to help her move around her home with more ease.
After the assessment we requested:
- Trolley with a non-slip mat to help her when moving drinks and meals from the kitchen to the lounge area
- Perching stool to be raised to suitable height to help her when preparing food and drinks in the kitchen – this can also be used for washing, dressing and ironing
- Raised toilet seat
- Leg lifter to help the client when she is getting in and out of the car and in and out of bed
We also noticed that the client was unsteady on her feet and with her permission, we made a referral to the Falls Clinic.
Since the intervention from us at the Wellbeing Team and the Falls Team, the client has told us that she is now feeling much more positive and feels she has now got the help she needed.
