Solihull Community Housing (SCH) has announced that its chief executive, Fiona Hughes is to retire from the organisation.

Fiona has worked at SCH for the past 10 years and has successfully steered the West Midlands ALMO through many challenges.

Fiona said: “It has been an absolute privilege to lead SCH as Chief Executive through  a period of great change within the housing sector, in particular the building safety and regulatory changes introduced following tragic failures including Grenfell and the death of Awaab Ishak

“Through this demanding time, both the SCH Board and staff have responded with commitment to everything that has come their way and I thank them for all the support they have shown me over  the years.

“It really will be a wrench to leave such a great organisation but  I know SCH is in safe hands with our Board chair Simon Wilson who I know will work to support the  new interim CEO, Lee Sugden.”

SCH Board Chair, Simon added: “Fiona’s many friends at SCH are sad to see that she is leaving us having guided the organisation with such professionalism for many years. We wish her a well-deserved and happy retirement.”

Lee Sugden, formerly of Salix Homes in Manchester, will join SCH in February as an interim CEO.
