Share your thoughts, memories, stories and feelings about Kingshurst

As we gear up for an exciting period of radical change and transformation in Kingshurst we want your help to capture and record thoughts, memories and stories from the Kingshurst community.

While the upcoming regeneration will deliver a better-integrated, high quality, community focused new village centre it will, of course, also mean some old buildings and places will disappear for ever.

As part of an ongoing programme the Council and Solihull Community Housing are working with community arts group Parrabbola to deliver some great fun sessions within the community to build those links between the community and culture and properly embed cultural activity into the new Kingshurst development.

Throughout January and February we are visiting local community groups and schools and through informal conversations we are asking you to ‘Give us a Hand’. Through creative conversation we will be asking for your thoughts, memories, stories and feelings about Kingshurst to enable us to capture and document this so it remains embedded in our community.

We’re following this up with a day of visual documentation on Saturday 5 March where you can permanently record your personal memories of favourite places through photographs and other visual recording.

If you would like more information, would like to get involved, would like us to come and visit your group or if you have any questions then please drop the culture team a line on culture@solihull.gov.uk
