Scheme moves to CPO phase

In December we updated you on the most recent report taken to Cabinet which sought approval to move to the Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) stage of the Kingshurst Village Centre, regeneration scheme.

Following Cabinet approval, CPO Notices have now been issued which will allow the Council to take control of the 38 outstanding plots of land and associated property interests that are required to enable development to take place, subject to any objections being received. This will make sure the complete redevelopment of Kingshurst can be delivered.

The Order itself along with a range of supporting documents including the Order map, a list of affected property addresses (the Schedule) and the Council’s Statement of Reasons can be found on the Councils website. https://www.solihull.gov.uk/About-the-Council/Notices

Please note that all landowners, occupiers and tenants directly affected by this order should have now received written notice, either by post or hand delivered by our land referencing agents, LRS.

We would like to reassure Council tenants living within the scheme’s redevelopment area that it is not currently expected that construction works will begin before Summer 2022. All Council tenants will be contacted over the coming months to discuss options for moving home.

If you have any concerns please email the Tenancy Sustainment Team at KHregen@solihullcommunityhousing.org.uk or  call the contact centre on 0121 717 1528.
