Plans for the redevelopment are continuing to move quickly as the project progresses to the detailed design stage and the development of a final masterplan.

We will soon be able to formally consult with all residents and stakeholders on the latest proposals. Once this work is completed, we will let you know how you can view the final Masterplan, including an illustrative 3D model of the scheme, and share your views.

We are developing a full business case to make sure we have all the relevant funding in place to start work as soon as possible. A proposal will be taken to Cabinet next week which seeks to unlock additional funding to complete this work. We will of course update you on the outcome of this.

In the meantime, you may have seen site investigation work is already well underway. We recently commissioned contractors to carry out a drainage survey and have appointed new partners to work up proposals for a landscaping scheme. A Principle Designer has now also been formally appointed, and we have a BREEAM assessor on-board, who will work with us to ensure that any final designs will reflect the highest standards of sustainability.

As plans are starting to take shape it’s more important than ever that local residents, business owners and members of the Kingshurst community feel informed about what’s going on and get the opportunity to have their say.

To make sure engagement continues to take place we have a dedicated Kingshurst Community Engagement Officer, Becki, who will be working with the Kingshurst community.
