A gas safety check is carried out once a year in all homes where there is a gas appliance installed. This is a free service. We must do these checks by law.
Before visiting you to do the check, our gas contractor will write to you giving you at least seven days’ notice. Their letter will give you the time and date of the appointment. If the appointment isn’t convenient, it can be re-arranged to a more suitable time for you.
If you miss two appointments, we will take legal action against you and a court injunction will be served. You may be changed for the cost of this.
When your service has been done, the gas contractor will post a copy of the valid gas certificate out to you the next working day.
We service the gas appliances in a property every time it is let to a new tenant. We give the new tenant a copy of the gas service certificate. All the engineers are on the Gas Safe Register (the official body for Gas Safety in the United Kingdom).
We have also arranged for our engineers to offer annual gas services to leaseholders at a reasonable cost. Please contact us to find out more about this.
Every month we hold a prize draw for £50 in shopping vouchers for tenants who keep their gas appointments. We will enter you in a prize draw if you:
- keep the appointment our contractor offer you by letter; or
- respond to the letter by re-arranging the appointment offered you without us having to write to you again.
