The Solihull Youth Hub is launching today (3 April 2017) in partnership with St Basil’s, Solihull Community Housing (SCH) and Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council Children’s Services (SMBCCS). The Hub will provide a holistic approach to assisting young people who are homeless or threatened with homelessness.
The service has been commissioned by SMBC to deliver homeless prevention and housing options to young people aged 16 – 24 years old in the following groups:
- Roofless/ Homeless on the day
- Homeless within 28 days
- In housing need
The service will be accessible between the hours of 9am – 5pm. A young person can either self-refer by calling the Youthline number on 0330 332 7978 or be referred by partner agencies.
The Youth Hub team will be based in the Kingshurst Office, Church Close but will also be providing an outreach service for young people at our office at Coppice Way, Connect in Chelmsley Wood and the Core at Solihull.
The Solihull Youth Hub will provide the young persons with:
- Access to floating support
- Housing aid and advice
- Family mediation and negotiation
- Advice and guidance on education, employment and training
- Access to a range of accommodation options
- Access to appropriate partner services e.g. mental health, drugs and alcohol treatment
The Solihull Youth Hub will also be the Single Access point for all Young People’s Supporting People funded accommodation and housing related support services in Solihull.
