Lady reading Decent Homes booklet to lady and man

Decent Homes

We want all our properties to reach the government's Decent Homes standard. A home is decent when it is comfortable, warm and has modern facilities. The Decent Homes programme is what we call the process of surveying all of our properties and working on them to make sure they are up to the government's standard. In many homes we will need to do works to the electrics and heating in order to bring the property up to standard. Once we have assessed your electrics and heating, you can choose other improvements from a menu. Other works could include improvements to kitchens and bathrooms.

Please note that having Decent Homes work done to your property doesn't affect your rent.

We have produced a comprehensive guide to the Decent Homes programme for customers. PDF logo One guide for customers in the north of the borough and PDF logo one for those in the south. For more information please download one of the guides.

If you have any questions about the programme you might find the answer in our frequently asked questions for Decent Homes.
